Travel to Los Angeles
The year before that, I began to issue a H2B work visa in a fairly serious organization that has been successfully engaged in this business since the early 90s. I went to the company on the recommendation of my neighbor, who told me a lot about her, shared her impressions of her female classmates, who had already been in the USA, and showed their photos in America. However, the more time passed, the clearer it became that there were problems with the paperwork to leave, even a letter came from the receiving party in Cleveland, where there were affirmative seals, but in the end the visa was not given. Until now, we can not pull out their money from there to the end.
Somehow my father introduced his former student, who had several higher education, including he graduated from the department of foreign languages, at one time I even took private lessons in English from him. Knowing that I had a desire to visit it in Los Angeles, he gave me the email address of a girl from Ufa, who had already been to the United States several times under the Work & Travel program, and at that time was studying at one of the universities in Los Angeles Of angeles We began to communicate, apparently she realized that I just could not leave and somehow stated that she was getting married in the winter of 2006 and could make us two wedding invitations. We went to the American consulate in Yekaterinburg without any enthusiasm, because it is known that they issue guest visas extremely reluctantly. But lo and behold, they were both given out to both of us without any obstacles and delays! In the end, I went to Los Angeles alone, a friend referred to urgent matters in Ufa, although what kind of affairs he had there, if he was left to himself a realtor.
Tickets had to be taken on the eve of departure, there were no direct flights, so I had to overpay at exorbitant prices for the tortured flight Ufa-Frankfurt-Chicago-Los Angeles, in total more than a thousand dollars came out. When passing through control in Chicago, I got lost in their huge airport, O-Hara, and my plane flew safely away without me. I must pay tribute to me, I have never been lost on this trip, which saved me a lot of times. I went to the dispatcher, explained my problem, he tore up my ticket and issued a new one, for a later flight, here I already learned that he was not obliged to do this. In Los Angeles, I was met by an inviting girl who settled me with her brother in the same hotel, not far from the airport.
There I lived to the end, at the same time I worked as a gardener, paid at the highest rate – $ 8 per hour. I was at a wedding, traveled all around, visited both Disneyland and the Oscars. I even tried for additional work in the movie “Extra Work in movies” at the well-known Central Casting agency – they liked it, they were ready to take me, but my guest visa B1, which did not give the right to engage in skilled labor in the United States, let me down a little. Somehow, leaving from the central station of the Union Station, met a popular actor James Franco there, he starred in a film. I wanted to go just for an autograph, in the end we talked warmly, even hugged goodbye.
Walking along the main street of Santa Monica, I met a world-famous breakdancer who spoke there, I have been practicing this dance for 14 years. We got acquainted, I even went to their training, did some work and learned from the experience of Californian colleagues, by the way, they called me very much then to perform with them, but I had a job at the hotel. At that time I was afraid to stay in Los Angeles, for the first time I was absolutely alone in a foreign country, not at the other end of the world, without the right to qualified work, I had a return ticket and I returned. Of course I regret it, I just had to endure a little, everything would be good for me, I speak the language, I am smart, sociable, educated, friendly, I have a lot of positive hobbies – these qualities are equally highly valued throughout the world.
But I do not lose heart, I will definitely get to Los Angeles, the city with which I fell in love long before my visit there, and after all I decided that this is the only place in the world where I would like to live, work and manage my destiny!
