Belgrade Attractions

The Church of Saint Sava is one of the largest in the world: at the same time more than 10,000 people can be accommodated here! The memo has the shape of a Greek cross and is located on the spot where in 1594 the Turks burned at the stake the Serbian saint Sawa. The church was designed according to the traditions of Serbian medieval architecture in 1926, but the main buildings and external works were completed only in 2003. Landmark is striking in its size and majestic simplicity. Byzantine motifs and traditional Serbian rigor created a unique design of the church of St. Sava, which fascinates tourists from all over the world.

Belgrade Fortress – the main attraction.
The powerful millennial fortress is the main historical and cultural heritage of Belgrade. At the top of the hill at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers is located the legendary Belgrade fortress – a place of outstanding battles and great victories, a place where the history of the country was written and architectural masterpieces were built. The monument itself is divided into the Upper Town (the ruins of the castle and Byzantine buildings) and the Lower Town (churches, towers, artillery fortifications). This is a real city in a city that survived over 2300 years of history, was destroyed 44 times, but still managed to preserve amazing reminders for future generations!

Prince Mikhailov Street. Belgrade
This ancient landmark is located in the heart of the city and is the main tourist mecca of Belgrade. Knez Mihailova Street is also the oldest in the city and was used 2 thousand years ago under Roman rule. The best preserved monuments and architectural creations of the late XIX century. National Theater – Modern Memoir of Belgrade

Other Belgrade attractions

Old Palace – Belgrade Landmark
The Old or Royal Palace is one of the brightest and unusual monuments of the city. It was built according to all the canons of academism and adherence to external forms of classical architecture.
